Description

Volunteers may interact with children and families who come to the Center.  Volunteer will assist staff in making the clients feel comfortable.  Activities includes: playing board games, coloring, reading or watching a movie.

  • Complete Victim Assessments for each child who comes to The Bridge.
  • Compile forms required to obtain an evaluation from the families served.
  • Contact families to obtain an evaluation of services received and provide follow-up and support.
  • Develop report of a family and child evaluations.
  • Compile a monthly victim assessment report.
  • Update Counselor Referral list on a yearly basis
  • Update Community Resource list on a yearly basis. 
  • Become trained by the family greeter and assist the family greeter when needed. 
General Volunteer Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and a high school graduate
  • As a part of the volunteer application, a criminal background and CANRIS (Child Abuse & Neglect Central Registry) check will be completed.
  • Will meet with the volunteer coordinator, going through an interview process to discuss interests and tour of our agency
  • Training will be individualized and based upon your interests. Training for each volunteer will also include an overview of our agency, observation of the community and safety education programs, introduction to child abuse prevention - recognizing, reporting and responding
