Amarillo Area CASA, INC

  • Children

Who We Are

CASA provides:

  • Advocacy for children who have suffered:  physical, emotional, sexual abuse; neglect and/or abandonment.  This advocacy includes:
    • Reporting/testifying in court
    • Building rapport with the child/foster parents/biological family
    • Advocating for children’s medical and educational needs
    • Ensuring the child is kept safe and healthy while in foster care

Our main function is to gather information that aids the court in determining permanent placement for abused children removed from their homes.  We provide stability for the child in a system that is anything but stable- we are the constant in the child's life. We ensure the child has someone on their "team" at all times, someone who is only there for that child's best interest.

What We Do

Amarillo Area Court Appointed Special Advocates (AACASA) advocates for children of abuse through the efforts of trained volunteers, appointed by the court to ensure them a safe, permanent environment.

In changing the course of children’s lives, we envision a changed society.  CASA is central to fulfilling society’s most fundamental obligation by making sure a qualified, compassionate adult will fight for and protect a child’s right to be safe, to be treated with dignity and respect, and to learn and grow in the security of a loving family.
