Each year, United Way of Amarillo & Canyon engages dozens of citizens from across its community service area of Potter and Randall Counties to serve as Impact Volunteers. These dedicated advocates assist United Way in the strategic investment of the annual campaign fund, a significant financial support for programs and services in Amarillo and Canyon addressing critical needs within United Way’s impact areas of Education, Income, and Health, and Basic Needs.
Based on their interest and experience, Impact Council Volunteers work in teams known as Impact Councils aligned to one of United Way’s focus areas to review and evaluate funding proposals for programs and services. New Impact Volunteers are invited to attend an annual appreciation and information luncheon to learn about United Way and the overall Impact process.
