Become a Long-Term Care Ombudsman Volunteer!
Once certified, Ombudsman Volunteers become advocates for residents in long-term care facilities. They investigate complaints, report findings, and work towards resolutions. Whether addressing individual concerns or advocating for systemic changes, Ombudsman Volunteers make a significant difference in the lives of those they serve.
To become certified, volunteers must complete a 36-hour training program, which includes classroom sessions, in-facility training, self-study assignments, and a three-month internship under the guidance of a certified Ombudsman.
Ideal candidates for Ombudsman Volunteer positions possess a genuine commitment to promoting well-being and protecting the rights of individuals in long-term care facilities. They must also demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with residents, facility staff, and other stakeholders.
Join us in making a meaningful impact on the lives of older adults in our community.
