Position Description:
Are you passionate about education and enjoy interacting with people of all ages? Join our team at Discovery Center as an Education Department Assistant! As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in enhancing the visitor experience and supporting educational initiatives within our center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting Guests: Welcome visitors with a warm smile and friendly demeanor as they enter the Discovery Center.
- Answering Questions: Serve as a knowledgeable resource for guests by providing information about exhibits, programs, and activities.
- Engaging with Guests: Initiate conversations with visitors to spark curiosity and encourage exploration of the center's educational offerings.
- Providing Organization Help: Assist staff members in maintaining a tidy and organized environment throughout the center.
- Guiding Guests Around the Center: Offer guided tours or provide directions to help guests navigate the various exhibits and facilities.
- Event Help: Support the Education Department during special events, workshops, and educational programs by helping with setup, registration, and other tasks as needed.
- Writing Curriculum: Collaborate with our education team to develop and refine educational materials and curriculum resources.
Qualifications:
- Passion for education, science, and learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable engaging with diverse groups of people, including children and families.
- Previous experience in education, customer service, or related fields is a plus but not required.

Time Commitment:
