Position Description:
Are you passionate about education and enjoy interacting with people of all ages? Join our team at Discovery Center as a part of our Creative Crew! As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in enhancing the visitor experience and supporting educational initiatives within our center.
Key Responsibility:
As a volunteer, you will help make the Discovery Center an interactive and educational space for all ages. Your main focus will be assisting with our Giant Rhodes sculpture designed to engage visitors with principles of physics and engineering.
Tasks will include:
Retying small strings and adjusting intricate metal components to ensure smooth operation.
Diagnosing and correcting the pathways for balls, exploring concepts such as force, motion, and gravity.
Troubleshooting and fine-tuning the mechanical and structural elements to maintain optimal function.
We are looking for volunteers who enjoy tinkering, problem-solving, and applying scientific principles to real-world challenges. 1-2 volunteers needed.
Qualifications:
Passion for education, science, and learning through hands-on experiences
An understanding of basic principles of physics, engineering, or mechanics is a plus.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, while remaining detail-oriented and focused on problem-solving.
