Rekindle your love for Texas, the Panhandle, and Texas legends Charles & Mary Ann Goodnight at the first ever Goodnight Under the Stars event scheduled for Saturday, September 5, 2015 from 5:00pm - midnight. Come celebrate Texas wine, Texas food, Texas music, Texas art, & Texas legends with us. Dine on regionally grown Texas beef as you sip on west Texas wine. Dance the night away to western swing music. Coby Carter & 5 Miles West will open, followed by Jody Nix and his band the Texas Cowboys. Texas artists Jack Sorenson and Jeff Gottfried will be onsite, and you can marvel as they create an original painting and sculpture before your very eyes. Come enjoy the sweeping views as the Panhandle sunset fades into the Texas stars that famously shine so big and bright over the beautiful Charles Goodnight Historical Center.All proceeds benefit programs of the Armstrong County Museum, Inc. The Charles Goodnight Historical Center is located on County Road 25, 12 miles east of Claude on Highway 287 in Goodnight, Texas. The center is open year round, Tuesday – Saturday from 10:00am – 5:00pm. Come experience this beautiful home with a guided tour given by a local community member, a few short videos, and as much or as little independent reading as you desire in the J. Evetts Haley, Sr. Visitor and Education Center. Tours typically last about 20-30 minutes, but with notice, scheduling and time restraint needs will be accommodated as much as possible.
