

Who We Are
The Area Agency on Aging of the Panhandle is dedicated to championing the needs of the elderly population across the region. Our mission is centered on fostering dignity, independence, and an enhanced quality of life for older individuals.
To achieve this mission, we offer a diverse array of comprehensive programs and facilitate access to essential services. These initiatives are meticulously coordinated to cater to the unique needs of the elderly population in the Panhandle, as well as the families and caregivers who support them.
Our services are tailored to individuals aged 60 and over, as well as their caregivers, spanning across the 26 counties of the Panhandle. We operate with funding from a combination of federal, state, and local sources, ensuring sustainability and effectiveness in our endeavors.

The Area Agency on Aging is your comprehensive resource for planning, coordinating, and implementing a wide range of essential services tailored to meet the needs of older adults. Our programs are designed to enhance quality of life and promote independence among eligible participants.
Available services include:
- Medicare Benefits Counseling
- Home Community Options Program
- Long-Term Care Ombudsman
- Nutrition Services
- Public Education and Outreach
- Caregiver Support Programs
We are actively seeking volunteers to assist with our Benefits Counseling and Ombudsman programs. Volunteers have the opportunity to become certified with the State of Texas, and training is provided free of charge. Join us in making a difference in the lives of older adults in our community.
