Special events volunteers will be responsible for decorating for the holidays and special functions. Assist with events as needing in varying capacities.

General Volunteer Requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older and a high school graduateAs a part of the volunteer application, a criminal background and CANRIS (Child Abuse & Neglect Central Registry) check will be completed. Will meet with the volunteer coordinator, going through an interview process to discuss interests and tour of our agency Training will be individualized and based upon your interests. Training for each volunteer will also include an overview of our agency, observation of the community and safety education programs, introduction to child abuse prevention - recognizing, reporting and responding

Volunteer will sort and manage donations, organize the basement storage. Ensure the family area is orderly, with updated pamphlets, magazine, the play area is orderly and clean, without broken toys. Ensure all items are stocked and prepared for children and families, for example, toy shelf stocked, refrigerators  stocked with juice and sodas, crackers are available.

Volunteers may interact with children and families who come to the Center.  Volunteer will assist staff in making the clients feel comfortable.  Activities includes: playing board games, coloring, reading or watching a movie.

Complete Victim Assessments for each child who comes to The Bridge.Compile forms required to obtain an evaluation from the families served.Contact families to obtain an evaluation of services received and provide follow-up and support.Develop report of a family and child evaluations.Compile a monthly victim assessment report.Update Counselor Referral list on a yearly basisUpdate Community Resource list on a yearly basis. Become trained by the family greeter and assist the family greeter when needed.
