Needs From: Hands On Amarillo

Volunteer: Sandcastle Days Volunteers Needed!

More than 1,500 fourth-grade students from across the Texas Panhandle will experience something many of them have never seen before, a beach, marine life, and hands-on STEAM learning that opens their eyes to new possibilities. Sandcastle Days is a collaborative effort between Window on a Wider World (WOWW), Shark Beach, schools, businesses, nonprofits, and hundreds of community volunteers.

For many of these students, this is much more than a field trip. It is a chance to touch a sea star, discover engineering through sandcastle construction, explore architecture, learn about marine ecosystems, and imagine careers they may never have considered. Whether you have a few hours or can spend the day with us, your time can have a lasting impact.

Volunteer opportunities include: Touch Tanks, Interactive Touch TV, Hermit Crab & Look Tank, Goldfish Pond & Shells Station, Sandcastle Lessons (training provided by our master sand sculptors), Sandcastle Building Station, Lunch Area Assistance, Greeter/Floater, and Squad Leader (group guide for student classes).

Volunteer shifts are available between 8:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., and we'll gladly work with your schedule.
