Each year, United Way of Amarillo & Canyon engages dozens of citizens from across its community service area of Potter and Randall Counties to serve as Impact Volunteers. These dedicated advocates assist United Way in the strategic investment of the annual campaign fund, a significant financial support for programs and services in Amarillo and Canyon addressing critical needs within United Way’s impact areas of Education, Income, and Health, and Basic Needs. Based on their interest and experience, Impact Council Volunteers work in teams known as Impact Councils aligned to one of United Way’s focus areas to review and evaluate funding proposals for programs and services. New Impact Volunteers are invited to attend an annual appreciation and information luncheon to learn about United Way and the overall Impact process. Volunteer: 2-1-1 Volunteer Recruitment2-1-1 Texas United Way Contact Center of United Way of Amarillo & Canyon is looking for volunteers to help answer calls. Between the hurricanes and Pandemic, we are overloaded and would deeply appreciate your time.
It requires about 2 hours of training and hours are 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., whichever weekdays you can help.
This is a great opportunity to be on the front lines of helping those who are most vulnerable right now.

Advocate: Loaned ExecutiveLoaned Executives (LE’s) are responsible for scheduling and assisting in a company’s fundraising campaign. Employee Campaign Coordinators work within their own company by collaborating with the CEO and Loaned Executive to plan and implement the company campaign. Loaned Executives are volunteers that help United Way function efficiently and smoothly. Providing or acting as an LE or ECC also has benefits to the company and the individual such as increased visibility of company in the community, networking with other businesses, positive impact on community, improved public speaking and leadership skills of employees, and better teamwork and public spirit within company. The Loaned Executives will work in tandam with the United Way annual campaign which runs August to November.
