Needs From: Hands On Amarillo

The Gift Shop Clerk sells items in our Museum Gift Shop. All items are barcoded and scanned into the register. Most sales are by credit card. 

The Museum Guide assists visitors use the Education Center's five computer kiosks and video displays. Assistance is showing a visitor how to use the touch screen to select one of eleven wars, and answer multiple choice questions about the war. The video displays show a recorded program on a continuous loop; the visitor merely has to stand in the correct spot in front of the television to be able to clearly hear the narration. The Guide also walks through the small museum of exhibits and monitors visitor activity.

Navigators help veterans or their family research benefits available to veterans or family members and make referrals to the appropriate agency who can satisfy that need. Navigators are provided resource lists and telephone numbers and will be provided ongoing training. Being a veteran or spouse of a veteran is a plus because of familiarity of benefits.

Sits at front desk. Answers telephone calls and questions. Greets visitors and answers questions or directs visitors to proper office. Sells tickets to visitors to Education Center. Other duties assigned by supervisor.
