We are a fun group of lots of ages that gathers together once a month (or more if we need to!) to make no-sew tie blankets for our homeless men, women and children on the cold winter nights. Our goal this year is 300 adult blankets and 150 children's blankets. (We provide blankets to the children who are part of the Salvation Army at Christmastime.)
We need 2 yards of a print and 2 yards of a coordinating solid for each adult blanket and 1 1/2 of each for children's blanket. (We also like to get the thinner fleece blankets at Walmart that are $2.50/ea and put two coordinating ones together to make one child blanket.)
Right now we have plenty of fleece to get started so if you cannot bring fleece at this time, don't let that stop you from coming! Donate when you can. We ALWAYS accept donations. Please watch for sales before buying the fleece (use coupons!)
We are able to provide NHS and JNHS volunteer hours for students who need them. We can also arrange times for youth groups, scouts, etc. to have their own party!
