The Charles Goodnight Historical Center proudly hosts tourists from around the world year round. It is our goal to perpetuate the Goodnight's characteristics of vision, perserverance, benevolence, and pride in the surrounding area by leading guests on tours through the home and grounds. It is our hope that each person will leave our facility with a deeper appreciation for our early pioneers as well as a greater sense of pride for our area and the state of Texas.
What We Do
The Charles Goodnight Historical Center is the restored home of Charles and Mary Ann Goodnight and can be found in its original location in Goodnight, TX. The center boasts of not only the first architecturally designed home in the Panhandle, but a state-of-the-art visitor center, a replica of a pioneer dugout, an outbuilding for gatherings, native bison, and sweeping views of undisturbed prairie.
